Converting existing Lync meeting to Outlook Meeting with "Join Online" option

Problem/Requirements:

1. We have an existing impromptu Lync meeting (IM/Chat) with a few people working on an incident.  The incident is judged to be a Major Incident and we want to send out an Outlook Meeting invite where the meeting offers the automatic "Join Online" option as Lync meetings originating in an Outlook Meeting.

2. If we try copying "Meeting Entry Info" into an outlook meeting, the link in the body works, but the meeting doesn't have "Join Online" in the meeting reminder, etc.

3. I have also tried to first click the Lync Meeting in the Outlook Meeting, then deleting that text and putting in the "Meeting Entry Info", but when you click Send it 'repairs' the Lync information back to the newly created Lync connection information.

This capability (automatic "Join Online" button) makes it easier and quicker for executives with small form factor devices to join meetings.

Thanks

Joe

I hate to say it, but I believe you're somewhat stuck here.  The repairing a Lync meeting issue is somewhat of a recent 'enhancement' in a recent CU, many are complaining about this as it kills the customization a bit (you can't remove the option to connect via web for phone only conferences for example).

I'm not sure it's feasible to get your own info in and have the appropriate attributes to make the one click Join work  without some serious Outlook hacking.

I'd head over to lync.ideascale.com and suggest your idea.  I think it's a good one and like to see it myself.  Ideascale isn't a Microsoft channel, but the product team has been known to review it.

Microsoft is aware of this, it's been brought up before. http://lync.ideascale.com is a more public option for submitting feedback, but again it's not an official channel.

I'd suggest you reach out to your Microsoft representative to discuss how you can submit feedback.
